The Social Innovation Internships

The Social Innovation Internships through Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale, and the Yale Club of New Haven are designed to connect New Haven based entrepreneurial non-profits, social enterprises, and social change agencies with qualified and enthusiastic Yale College students for a summer internship experience centered around social innovation. This summer, Tsai  CITY and the Yale Club of New Haven are partnering with COLLAB. Growth & Advancement Fellow

Collab is seeking a dependable, energetic Collab Growth and Advancement Fellow to support in the development, design and implementation of our new advanced program for early-stage entrepreneurs. Over the summer, we hope you will gain knowledge and skills around entrepreneurial development, curriculum design, and program implementation.

As the Collab Growth and Advancement Fellow, you will be working closely with Collab’s
Venture Manager to design and implement this critical new program for our entrepreneurs. This will include research, curriculum design, and meeting 1-on-1 with entrepreneurs. As a result of your efforts, we hope an increasing number of Collab graduates are poised for investment to grow, scale, and sustain their ventures.

  • Dedication and enthusiasm around helping to create an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem for the region, commitment to Collab’s mission, and a lens for diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Courses or internship-level experience in finance, economics, or entrepreneurship or equivalent to support on curriculum development
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with entrepreneurs, stakeholders, co-directors, and staff
  • Keen attention to detail, organization, and project management ability
  • Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite

 

Marketing & Storytelling Fellow

Collab is seeking a dependable, energetic Collab Marketing and Storytelling Fellow to support in the design and implementation of our organizational marketing and communications strategy. Over the summer, we hope you will gain knowledge and skills around project management, social media and SEO, and creative storytelling strategies.

As the Collab Marketing and Storytelling Fellow, you will be working closely with Collab’s
Director of External Affairs & Organizing to design and implement innovative storytelling projects to highlight entrepreneur success stories, think critically about backend strategies to increase our reach (i.e. social media pacing, SEO), and engage in holistic strategy about how we talk about our mission and impact. This will include research, utilizing digital platforms, and engaging directly with entrepreneurs in our network. As a result of your efforts, we hope to increase our following on our digital platforms, increase engagement and knowledge of our work and impact, and celebrate the progress of our entrepreneur graduates.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
  • Optional: Graphic design experience or interest in graphic design

 

The selected social innovation interns will:
  • Be engaged with the projects outlined above during the summer of 2022.
  • Receive a stipend of $4,000.
  • Be assigned an immediate supervisor who can advise and work closely with them.
  • Have an immersive experience in the non-profit, startup and social entrepreneurial processes with specific
  • tasks and projects.
  • Leave the internship with a new skills and experiences to share with the Yale community upon return.
