Intensive: Innovation from the Inside – Building Corporate-Startup Partnerships
The Innovation from the Inside Intensive 'Building Corporate-Startup Partnerships' will introduce students from Yale University and selected international academic institutions to the mindsets, incentives, and models used by founders and corporates to launch successful partnerships seeking to incubate or accelerate innovation.
Led by Matt Hooper, Managing Director for IDONEA USA and previously the first vice president of Open Innovation at the Barclays Investment Bank, students hear from successful practitioners on how innovation incumbents and 'insurgents' can identify, design, and sustain beneficial corporate partnerships.
Students also expand their international network through teamwork and have the opportunity to present a final group project to a selected panel of global C-suite-level leaders and startup founders for final feedback and awards. The invited speakers to all sessions have had leadership roles at global institutions and organizations such as Verizon 5G Labs, IBM, and more.
This Innovation from the Inside Intensive is for you if:
You want to learn how entrepreneurs and startup founders can identify where, when, and how to engage a corporation--whether that means as a partner, customer, or investor.
You want to explore why 'Open Innovation' is a uniquely effective method for connecting early-stage startups with large, legacy institutions in efforts to scale the startup and reinvent the institution.
You want to understand how a variety of innovation programs, like accelerators, incubators, and venture studios, are used in successful corporate-startup collaborations.
