The Tsai CITY Front Desk Attendant plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, organized, and collaborative environment for the Tsai CITY community. As the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors, Front Desk Attendants represent Tsai CITY’s mission while ensuring the space operates smoothly during evening and weekend hours. This role requires proactive engagement, dependable teamwork, strong communication skills, and attention to detail to support both the daily flow and the dynamic programming of the space.

Key Responsibilities:

Welcome visitors and serve as the primary point of contact, answering questions and providing information about Tsai CITY’s programs, events, and resources.
Support space accessibility, safety, and cleanliness by routinely checking for issues, enforcing policies, and promptly reporting hazards.
Maintain and troubleshoot basic technology, including AV and presentation equipment, collaborating with full-time staff when needed.
Assist with event logistics, including room setup and breakdown, and on-site support for programs during assigned shifts.
Help uphold Tsai CITY’s values by fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and collaborative environment for all users of the space.
Collaborate with staff and fellow front desk team members to improve operations and proactively address concerns or suggestions.
Take personal accountability for shift responsibilities, tasks, and follow-through, including end-of-shift checklists and communication logs.

Job Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm for Tsai CITY’s mission and a commitment to fostering innovation, inclusion, and community.
  • Reliable and punctual, with the ability to independently manage responsibilities during your assigned shifts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in welcoming and assisting visitors.
  • Willingness to understand Tsai CITY’s technical tasks, such as AV setup, troubleshooting, and reporting technical issues clearly.
  • Flexibility and professionalism, especially during fast-paced or last-minute event needs.
  • Prior experience in customer service, peer engagement, or event coordination is a plus.
  • All Front Desk Attendants must commit to 2 shifts per week when classes are in session (4 hours per shift): weekend and late evening availability is required. Tsai CITY’s hours of operation are 9am to 10pm, closed during recesses and holidays.
