Margaret Cartiera
Margaret Cartiera is dedicated to advancing novel solutions, fostering collaborative partnerships, and helping students and faculty bring ideas to life. She has built interdisciplinary initiatives, led the design and execution of innovation programs, and mentored numerous student and faculty teams resulting in the successful launch of new ventures, strategic partnerships, and translational research endeavors. At Yale, Margaret plays key leadership roles at Tsai CITY and the Yale New Haven Health Center for Health Care Innovation. Her work focuses on creating pathways to turn bold ideas into scalable, real-world solutions.
Margaret brings a cross-sector perspective shaped by experience in industry, academia, and venture investment. Prior to Yale, she established and led the state’s $200 million Bioscience Innovation Fund and oversaw the $10 million annual Regenerative Medicine Research Fund and held executive roles at biotech, medical technology, and digital health companies, focusing on operations, strategy, regulatory, and product development.
Margaret holds a B.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, M.S. from the University of Pennsylvania, and Ph.D. from Yale in biomedical engineering.
