Miller Prize and Rothberg Catalyzer Prize Finalists Announced
Finalists have been announced for the two Startup Yale prizes managed by Tsai CITY. Reflecting Yale’s diverse innovation ecosystem, these student teams join a cohort of Startup Yale prize finalists working on ventures in fields from healthcare to sustainability. The teams will pitch their ideas on Friday, April 5, as part of Startup Yale, a three-day gathering of Yale’s innovation community that is free and open to the public.

Miller Prize Finalists
The Miller Prize supports students working on innovative tech or tech-enabled solutions through a $25,000 prize. Finalists for the Miller Prize will pitch at 3:15pm on April 5, in room 4420 at the Yale School of Management.
PREPARED
PREPARED is a one-touch mobile alert system that is placed in the hands of trusted faculty at schools. PREPARED allows the school’s emergency response to be instantaneous and decentralized, while also streamlining the process of contacting authorities. In an emergency situation, seconds are lives, and clear, dynamic communication is vital.
Sol
Sol is a mobile application that can assess depression risk from a short audiovisual sample of a face using deep learning techniques. Based on the degree of risk, users will be directed to appropriate care. This technology can help in depression screening, treatment monitoring, and in clinical trials.
Statera Therapeutics
Statera aims to unlock the full potential of antigen-specific immunotherapy by boosting efficacy with improved delivery. The team accomplishes this boost, observed at a factor of 100-150% in murine models, through an innovative nanoparticle that achieves sequential release of multiple agents to targeted locations.
Typogram
Typogram is the first design tool built exclusively for typographic design with new font technologies, advanced styling features, and artificial intelligence.
Rothberg Catalyzer Prize Finalists
The Rothberg Catalyzer Prize @ Yale, which is awarded in collaboration with Yale’s Center for Biomedical Innovation and Technology (CBIT), is a $15,000 prize given to the best student-led venture or project focused on developing an innovative hardware and/or AI solution to a medical challenge. Finalists will pitch at 1pm on April 5, in room 4420 at the Yale School of Management.
OnTrack Rehab
OnTrack will help doctors better diagnose and rehabilitate patients with concussions. It has three components: a virtual reality headset with eye tracking and motion detection; a physical balance board with adjustable stability, which tracks center of gravity; and a cloud platform that collects and synthesizes the data.
Verivas Solutions
The Verivas team is developing a novel medical device that seeks to transform vein harvesting for coronary artery bypass graft surgery by reducing its cost and complexity. The device’s simplicity can replace cumbersome and expensive traditional methods of harvesting, which both vascular surgeons and physicians assistants believe require change.
Hypnos Technologies
Hypnos is developing an in-ear, wearable EEG and ECG that is non-obstructive, discreet, and attractive to any user who wears earphones and would like to concurrently have real-time brain activity monitoring and feedback of measured variables to improve their cognitive performance and overall well-being.
Sol
Sol is a mobile application that can assess depression risk from a short audiovisual sample of a face using deep learning techniques. Based on the degree of risk, users will be directed to appropriate care. This technology can help in depression screening, treatment monitoring, and in clinical trials.
