Student Fellows Program

The Tsai CITY Student Fellowship Program recruits ten students across both Yale College and the professional schools to promote Tsai CITY’s programs, events, and other resources. Tsai CITY Student fellows provide (1) outreach, marketing, and ambassadorship services to Yale students; (2) targeted engagement in Tsai CITY programs and initiatives; and (3) strategic advisory support to Tsai CITY leadership.

These students are passionate about entrepreneurship and innovation and the potential of technology and business to create positive change in the world. In addition to acting as liaisons between Tsai CITY and the student body at Yale, they help engage potential partners, sponsors, and collaborators for the center's initiatives.

A key benefit of this fellowship is the opportunity for tailored professional development, such as leadership training or public speaking workshops.

Eligibility

Tsai CITY seeks a representative group of Fellows across Yale’s graduate and professional schools and Yale College, as well as a range of expertise in sustainability, arts, civic innovation, healthcare, technology, entrepreneurship, and management. We look for candidates engaged in their schools and these domains both within and outside of Tsai CITY.

To participate in the fellowship, students must be enrolled full-time in a Yale degree-granting program.

Applications open at the start of the fall semester. Fellows are chosen through a competitive selection process and serve for the entire academic year (September to May).

A New Path for Student Leadership at Tsai CITY

Tsai CITY initially created the Student Advisory Board (SAB) in 2017 to represent student voices within Tsai CITY’s development. As the center established itself on campus and COVID-19 altered the educational landscape, the SAB evolved into the Student Fellows program, providing new methods of student engagement that better align with Tsai CITY's evolving aims.
