Tsai CITY Space Use & Reservation Guidelines

About Tsai CITY
Tsai CITY is a student-facing center dedicated to supporting Yale students as they develop and apply innovative ideas to real-world challenges. Our building functions as a co-working and gathering space for co-curricular activities that actively advance innovation and entrepreneurship.

Reservation Priorities

Tsai CITY prioritizes room reservation requests from:

  • Tsai CITY–affiliated student clubs and organizations
  • Groups with a clear focus on innovation or entrepreneurship

For Student Groups

Approved Affiliated Clubs: Use the Airtable link provided in your club approval email to request space.

Apply for Tsai CITY Affiliation: The affiliation process for the 2025–2026 academic year is now closed. Please check back in August for the 2026–2027 application. Student clubs wishing to become Tsai CITY–affiliated should complete this application form.

For Yale Departments

This form is for Yale departments requesting space at Tsai CITY. Events and activities should:

  • Be co-curricular (not credit-bearing courses, labs, or academic class sessions)
  • Align closely with Tsai CITY’s mission to support applied, experimental, and action-oriented innovation
  • Be meaningfully student-facing—engaging Yale students in the work of innovation or entrepreneurship
  • Advance innovation, entrepreneurship, or other Tsai CITY initiatives through skill-building, experimentation, venture development, or collaborative problem-solving

We prioritize departmental requests based on this alignment.

To help us manage high demand:

  • Submit requests at least 10 business days in advance
  • Allow up to 5 business days for review and processing

Tsai CITY building hours are 9:00 AM–11:00 PM, seven days a week (subject to holiday and recess changes). To prioritize Tsai CITY programs and affiliated initiatives, room reservation requests from Yale departments will be reviewed beginning two weeks after the start of each semester. Requests will be prioritized in the following order: Tsai CITY–affiliated student organizations, mission-aligned departmental requests, all other eligible departmental requests.

Reservation Review Timeline

To prioritize Tsai CITY programming:

  • Student club requests open on the first day of classes
  • Yale department requests open two weeks after the first day of classes

Requests are processed in the following order:

  • Tsai CITY–affiliated student clubs
  • Mission-aligned departmental requests
  • All other requests
