Intensive: Climate Innovation

A six-week intensive for students interested in climate entrepreneurship and innovation. Explore climate technologies, learn from founders and investors, and develop ideas alongside a cohort of aspiring innovators.

Overview

The Climate Innovation Intensive is a six-week, cohort-based program for Yale students interested in exploring climate entrepreneurship and innovation.

Through hands-on workshops and conversations with startup founders, investors, and ecosystem leaders, participants explore emerging climate technologies and the opportunities and challenges involved in bringing climate solutions to life.

Working in small teams, students move from exploring a climate-tech sector to identifying and evaluating ideas that could become entrepreneurial ventures.

Participants receive:

  • Hands-on workshops focused on climate entrepreneurship and innovation
  • Practical tools and frameworks for exploring climate-tech opportunities
  • Conversations with startup founders, investors, and ecosystem leaders
  • Exposure to different sectors and perspectives across climate technology
  • A small team of peers to explore and evaluate potential venture ideas
  • An opportunity to present a final idea at the conclusion of the program

Application and Criteria

Expectations

Program length: 6-weeks
Time commitment: Four hours per week
Program format: Cohort-based
Cohort size: 35–40 students
Team size: 4–5 students

Participants are expected to:

  • Attend weekly program sessions
  • Participate actively in workshops and conversations with experts
  • Collaborate with a small team throughout the six-week program
  • Explore opportunities within a climate-tech sector
  • Develop and evaluate potential entrepreneurial ideas
  • Present a final idea at the conclusion of the program
