Storytelling with Slides: An Open Tutorial on Pitching Your Venture

Storytelling with Slides is a Tsai CITY video tutorial that provides budding entrepreneurs with an introduction into building a pitch deck.

Storytelling with Slides

The tutorial addresses the importance of creating a plan, defining your purpose, and how to create, iterate and disseminate your pitch. It helps if you're actively working on a new venture, but if not, the content will still be exciting and relevant. Through a mixture of videos, templates, and examples, these tutorials help budding entrepreneurs tell their stories compellingly and practically.

Throughout the seven modules, participants will learn how to tell their story and build their pitch deck from a provided template. Each module will include a video, slides, and an associated template. The modules can be conducted asynchronously, on your own time.

This tutorial is presented by Peter Boyd, who is a Lecturer at Yale School of the Environment and Resident Fellow at the Yale Center for Business and the Environment. Outside Yale, he is the Founder & CEO of Time4Good, helping Leaders and their teams build purpose-driven paths to maximum impact. He also serves on the UNFCCC's Race To Zero Expert Review Group, as an advisor to REDD.plus, and as Chair of 'Sustainable Westport' in his home state of Connecticut.

For over twenty years, he has worked on, led, and advised high-growth organizations on purpose-driven leadership and the transition to net-zero. He was Launch Director and COO of Sir Richard Branson's Carbon War Room; served as Chair of The Energy Efficiency Deployment Office for the UK Department of Energy & Climate Change, and led The B Team's 'Net-Zero by 2050' initiative focused on business encouragement of an ambitious Paris Agreement at COP21. The Charity & Government experience followed twelve years at the Virgin Group (including CEO of Virgin Mobile South Africa) and his first job with McKinsey & Co.
