Creative Spotlight with Sola Fadiran (’22 DRA) and Frances Pollock (’25 MUS), co-founders of the Midnight Oil Collective, Joseph Tsai, and Clara Wu Tsai

Midnight Oil Collective combines the tools of venture capital with those of cooperative economics to create a wholly new business model that truly centers on creators. Its incubator and accelerator programs educate and support artists as they refine their work in a community of other creators. Instead of raising money for projects individually, Midnight Oil Collective bundles projects in a diverse investment portfolio and raises funds for them together.
The Pathways in Innovation Spotlight series focuses on the five Tsai CITY Pathways. These pathways are unique and overlapping roadmaps for Yale students to navigate Tsai CITY offerings. The Entrepreneur, Intrapreneur, Explorer, Civic Innovator, and Creative make up all five pathways and are essential starting points for innovators engaging with Tsai CITY offerings (Read more about our Pathways here).
